Some Blueberry History

Did you know that long before Europeans arrived in the New World, North American Indian tribes gathered a variety of wild sapphire-colored berries as a food staple? They called these berries “star berries” because of the star-shaped calyx on top of each berry. Today, we call these berries “blueberries.” Source: US Highbush Blueberry Council.
